- Banker of the Year 2001. In December, Money and Banking, one of the leading authorities in Thailand on the banking and financial services industry, announced that it had chosen Mr. Chartsiri Sophonpanich, the President of Bangkok Bank, as Banker of the Year. The magazine said it had chosen Mr. Chartsiri because of his vision, his achievement in leading the Bank out of the financial crisis and returning it to profit, and the way he had worked together with different generations to form a cohesive team in the Bank.
- The Best Bank in Thailand by Asian Banker Journal, 2001. Bangkok Bank was chosen as the Best Retail Bank in Thailand by the Singaporean-based Asian Banker Journal in its inaugural Excellence in Retail Financial Services awards, which were announced in December. The Journal praised the Bank for its sound business practices and the way it had forged ahead to take advantage of new opportunities.
- Best Bank in Thailand by Interest Magazine. The magazine used a range of factors to select the best bank including market share, financial standing and social contribution.
- The Best Bank in Thailand by Money and Banking. Each year Money and Banking magazine carries out intensive research into all the banks in Thailand before making its selection of the best overall bank. Bangkok Bank was announced as the Best Bank in Thailand in the September issue of the magazine. The award was in recognition of a wide range of factors including financial performance and management of the Bank.
- The Best Bank in Thailand by Euromoney. Bangkok Bank was selected as the Best Bank in Thailand in the annual Awards for Excellence by the London-based financial magazine, Euromoney. The award was presented to the President of Bangkok Bank Mr. Chartsiri Sophonpanich on Friday 13 July, by Mr. Simon Brady, the Managing Director of Euromoney.
- Best Bank in Thailand by Global Finance magazine. Each year Global Finance chooses the top emerging market bank, in ten different countries.The award is based on a range of criteria including size of assets, network and market strategy.
- The Asian Banking Awards by the Asia Pacific Bankers Congress. Bangkok Bank was the winner in the marketing category, in recognition of the marketing success of Bangkok Bank's in-store and micro branches. It was the only commercial bank in Thailand to win a place in the prestigious competition which attracted 157 entries from 54 banks in 15 countries. The award is given to banks throughout the region, which initiate or enhance outstanding new projects during the year.
- Bangkok Bank was commended for its Investor Relations Program by the London based Investor Relations magazine in May.
- Best Managed Company Award. Bangkok Bank was selected as one of the three best managed companies in Thailand by FinanceAsia magazine in April.
- Top rating for its securities services, by the Global Custodian journal. Bangkok Bank has been given the top rating for its securities services for the past three consecutive years by the Global Custodian journal, a well-known quarterly securities service journal, published in the US.
