FinanceAsia described Bangkok Bank as a favored choice among investors. The magazine commented that Bangkok Bank’s market capitalization had increased by more than 50 per cent over the past 12 months, and that brokerage firms were recommending the company as a buy.

Best Bank in Thailand by Euromoney in its 2002 Euromoney Awards for Excellence. The magazine has also named Bangkok Bank as the Best Debt House in Thailand.
In the July 2002 issue in which Euromoney announced the competition results, it described Bangkok Bank as “the most forward-looking, innovative and cost-effective bank in the country.”

Bank of the Year in Thailand 2002 by the Banker, a London-based banking magazine. In announcing the award, the magazine cited Bangkok Bank achievements such as its major organizational and branch restructuring project designed to enhance its customer focus and efficiency as well as its new internet banking service.
- Best Domestic Bond House by Asiamoney magazine. This is the first year in which the Hong-Kong based financial publication has awarded this prize to Asian banks. Previous awards were made to US and European banks. According to the Thai Bond Dealing Center, last year Bangkok Bank underwrote more government and private-sector bonds than any other local banks.
- Best Bank in Thailand by Global Finance magazine. Every year Global Finance selects the best bank in emerging markets. The award is based on qualitative and quantitative analysis including interviews with analysts, rating agencies and industry sources. Global Finance said it chose Bangkok Bank because it was the best managed, most innovative and largest bank in Thailand.
- Best Foreign Exchange Bank in Thailand by Global Finance magazine. The criteria for choosing the winners included transaction volume, market share, global coverage, ease of use and competitiveness of pricing.
