The Bangkok Bank Sports Club has made an ongoing contribution to the development of sports for more than 40 years. The Bank's active participation in sports has resulted in the development of athletes' skills and overall standards.This has been reflected in the success of Bangkok Bank's football team, which has won championships in domestic and international tournaments. As a result of the high standards of the team, numerous players have been selected to join the national team.

 

Bangkok Bank's basketball teams have also been successful as both men and women's teams won His Majesty the King's trophies in Division One.

 

The Bank actively participates in traditional sports. In 2003, Bangkok Bank's kite-flying teams won five championships, including the most prestigious trophy of all, the one presented by His Majesty the King. The four other trophies were presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Bunrawd Brewery Co., Ltd.

 

The Bangkok Bank's golf team won two championships in 2003, His Majesty the King's Cup in the Close Senior Amateur tournament and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Cup in the Thai-Lao Association tournament.

The Bank also supports various volleyball tournaments which includes national secondary school and national university tournaments sponsored by Bangkok Bank with the co-operation of the Volleyball Association of Thailand. The tournaments have produced a number of players for Thailand's national team including four gold medals in four consecutive years at the SouthEast Asia (SEA) Games. In addition, in 2003 Bangkok Bank's men’s basketball team won the trophy presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in Division One.
