Bangkok Bank is launching Be Secure®, a new service that will offer additional security and confidence when shopping online for Bangkok Bank Be1st debit cardholders and credit cardholders. Be Secure will be available from February 16, 2007.
Bangkok Bank Credit Card Division Manager, Mr. Shoke Na Ranong, said the bank, in association with Visa International has developed Be Secure® to provide excellent security standards for online transactions using the bank’s Be1st card or credit cards.
"Customers who have registered for Be Secure® can be confident that nobody can use their card numbers or counterfeit their card information to make fraudulent transactions on the internet."
Mr. Shoke said that Bangkok Bank cardholders will be protected by two security layers including the Verified by Visa Password, and Be Secure®, which requires cardholders to confirm their identity by typing in their Personal Assurance Message (PAM). The PAM also protects cardholders from fraudulent websites by ensuring that they are making transactions only with registered online merchants.
To use the new service, Bangkok Bank’s credit cardholders can easily register for Be Secure® at www.bangkokbank.com/BeSecure. Be1st cardholders will need to request a reference code from a Bangkok Bank Bualuang ATM and use the code to register online.
The bank provides this security service without any charge and no documents are required. Bangkok Bank’s Visa cardholders can register from February 16, 2007 and MasterCard holders will also be able to sign up for Be Secure® soon.
