Bangkok Bank to sell PTT debentures offering interest rates of up to 5.50% and 6.00% per annum

Bangkok Bank, in co-operation with Kasikornbank, Krung Thai Bank and Siam Commercial Bank, will receive subscriptions for up to Baht 10 billion in unsecured senior name-registered debentures of PTT Public Company Limited. The debentures comprise two tranches with the first tranche having a maturity period of five years and interest rates of up to 5.50 percent per annum, and the second tranche have a maturity of seven years and up to 6.00 percent per annum. The debentures, which have been rated ‘AAA’ by Tris Ratings, will be available for subscription from October 13-16, 2008.

Bangkok Bank Senior Vice President for Investment Banking Surabhan Purnagupta said Bangkok Bank, Kasikornbank, Krung Thai Bank and Siam Commercial Bank have been appointed joint selling agents for the debentures. A total amount not exceeding Baht 10 billion will be offered to both institutional and general investors.

PTT’s debentures comprise of two tranches. The debentures in the first tranche have a five-year maturity period with interest rates of 5.00 percent per annum for the first three years, and 5.50 percent per annum for final two years. The debentures in the second tranche have a seven-year maturity period with interest rates of 5.00 percent per annum for the first three years, 5.50 percent per annum for the fourth and fifth years, and 6.00 percent per annum for the final two years. Interest payments from both tranches will be made every six months. The debentures will be available at the four selling-agent banks for minimum purchases of Baht 100,000, in multiples of Baht 100,000. The debentures are expected to attract investors interested in investment options with attractive rates of return.
