The Asian Banker 300 has ranked Bangkok Bank as the top commercial bank in Thailand both in terms of size and strength.
The Asian Banker, a specialist research and intelligence company, considered the sustainability of bank’s profits throughout the Asia Pacific region and then ranked the strengths of different banks. The ranking was based on size, balance sheet growth, risk profile, profitability and asset quality.
Under these criteria, Bangkok Bank was ranked as the strongest bank in Thailand, and the fifth largest bank in Southeast Asia.
Bangkok Bank Executive Vice President Bordin Unakul said it was gratifying to receive the accolade which reflected the bank’s continued growth. “The size and breadth of our business allows us to provide strong synergies and a diverse range of services to our customers.”
In other recent accolades for the bank, The Wall Street Journal Asia named Bangkok Bank as Thailand’s leading bank in the category of ‘Financial Soundness’ in its recent Asia’s 200 Most Admired Companies. Bangkok Bank was also named as one of Thailand’s top 10 Most Admired Companies in Asia.
Meanwhile, a recent poll of senior executives and treasurers by AsiaMoney saw Bangkok bank named as the Best Domestic Provider in Thailand of Foreign Exchange services. |
