Bangkok Bank and the Board of Investment (BOI) continue to support Thai businesses interested in investing overseas and are organizing a seminar on the topic: Crisis and Opportunity in Laos and Vietnam. This is the latest in the BOI and BBL Investment Seminar Series and will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008. Interested persons are advised to book early as seats are limited.
The Manager of the Office of the President for Bangkok Bank, Thantika Bodhisompon, said the bank, as an advisor to the BOI, is committed to providing Thai businesses with information about investing in ASEAN countries. As part of this commitment, the bank is organizing the BOI and BBL Investment Seminar: Crisis and Opportunity in Laos and Vietnam on Monday, July 28, 2008 at the bank’s head-office on Silom Road.
The seminar will provide information about investment opportunities, potential business synergies between Thailand and its neighbors, as well as regulations and incentives for investing in Laos and Vietnam. The seminar is also expected to help push Thailand’s investments in the manufacturing industry to an even higher level.
"The guest speakers are business specialists from the two countries and will draw on their practical experience to help attendees gain a deeper understanding of the current operating environment in Vietnam and Laos," Ms. Thantika said.
The speakers will include Lao-Thai Hua Rubber Managing Director Dr. Khanchai Kiatsrithanakorn, who will speak about Contract Farming; Bangkok Bank’s Vientiane Branch Manager Thewakun Chanakun, who will speak about Investment Opportunities in Laos; from Vietnam, Star Print Managing Director Santiwat Sukkanon will speak about Managing a Business in Crisis; and Bangkok Bank Advisor Wittaya Supatanakul, will talk on the topic – 'Is the Vietnamese Economy in Crisis?'.
