- I lost my passbook. What should I do?
You should immediately contact the branch where you opened your account or notify us via Bualuang iBanking, or the Bualuang Phone service on 1333 or (66) 0-2645-5555.
- How can I replace my lost passbook?
To replace a lost passbook, bring a copy of the police report along with your ID card to the branch. The replacement fee is 100 Baht.
- Can I apply for a bank account online?
No, currently this service is not available. However, Bangkok Bank has an extensive network with more than 750 locations throughout Thailand.
- I live abroad and would like to close my Bangkok Bank account in Thailand, can I assign someone in Thailand to close my account?
No, you must close your account at the branch in person. However, you can keep the account open and withdraw the full amount of the remaining balance.
- How can I withdraw funds from my account if I am away overseas?
You can nominate an authorized person by signing the back of a withdrawal slip. Your signature must be identical to what you have signed in your passbook. The authorized person must bring along his/her identification card, your ID card or passport, and the passbook of the account.
The withdrawal slip which includes the power of attorney (proxy) on the back is available at any Bangkok Bank branch. The transaction can only be made at the branch where you hold your account.
- Can you tell me the balance of my account via e-mail?
No. We will not send confidential information via an unsecured connection for security reasons. However, if you are a Bualuang iBanking customer you can use a secure on-line connection called ‘Bank Mail’. Also use Bualuang iBanking and Bualuang Phone on 1333 or (66) 0-2645-5555.
- Can I check if my friend’s Bangkok Bank account is operational?
No, all customer account information is confidential. Please read our privacy policy for more information.
- I would like to have a bank statement. What is the fee?
Statements for current accounts are free of charge and the others are as follows:
- No fee for statements during the most recent six-month period - 200Bt for statements between six months and two years old - 500Bt for statements older than two years
- How do I open a savings account?
Simply bring along your ID card or another photo ID card issued by the government to the branch nearest you. If you are an expatriate, bring your passport and work permit (if available). The minimum deposit is 500 Bt.
- How much does it cost to transfer money within Thailand through my account?
It depends on where you are transferring funds to. It is generally free to transfer money between Bangkok Bank accounts in the same province. There are fees attached to inter-regional money transfers which you can see here.
- What account can I open if I am a business customer?
We continue to offer Bangkok Bank’s savings, fixed, and current accounts. However, in addition you can also choose to open a Foreign Currency Deposit Account if you want to keep your cash in a foreign currency.

- What is the minimum deposit amount I have to open my account with?
It depends on what type of account you want to open. The minimum deposits are as follows:
- Minimum 500Bt to open a Savings Account - Minimum 2,000Bt to open a Fixed Deposit Account - Minimum 10,000Bt to open a Current Account
- Are there any account maintenance fees?
If your Savings account balance is less than 500Bt and if the account has been non-active for more than one year, 50Bt will be deducted from your account each month. When the balance is at zero, your account will be automatically closed without prior notice.
If the monthly Current account balance is less than 1,000Bt, you will be charged 100Bt per month, excluding any overdraft charges. |

When you go in to your nearest branch to open an account you will need:
Thai Citizens ID card or another photo ID card issued by the government
Expatriates need to produce their passport and work permit
500Bt to open a Savings Account
2,000Bt to open a Fixed Deposit Account
10,000Bt to open a Current Account
