Protect your computer from viruses and hackers

Viruses and attacks from hackers are a major concern for all computer users. It is critical that you know how to protect your computer and your personal information from these unwanted intrusions.

E-mails:

  • Be aware of suspicious e-mails as they may contain a virus or they could be linking your computer into a fraudulent website. It is advisable to only open emails from senders you know.
  • DO NOT reply to any e-mail that asks for your password or other highly sensitive information. Bangkok Bank will NEVER ask you for this type of information. If you do receive such an email, please contact us immediately.
  • Only send sensitive information via our secure message system called ‘Bank Mail’. Do not send any sensitive information to us via the regular email network.
  • You need to be sure about a link before you click, they could contain viruses.

Installing software:

  • Frequently update your computer with the most current anti-virus software to guard against new viruses. We recommend you download anti-virus programs as soon as they become available.
  • Install firewall software to protect your information. A firewall blocks viruses and hackers from entering your system.

Free software is available from the internet. Check out www.microsoft.com/security or www.microsoft.com/thailand.
