Student Internship Program (SIP)

We have helped a generation of Thai students prepare for their future careers through hands-on learning at Bangkok Bank.

Bangkok Bank Public has offered its Student Internship Program (SIP) since 1984 with the goal of providing educational and learning experiences to Thai students from domestic and international institutions.

SIP has been developed to help students enhance their knowledge and gain practical experience in key areas such as finance, banking, investment, business management, social development, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and personal leadership, as well as to help prepare them for their future career. The program is fully sponsored by Bangkok Bank.

Objectives

  • To provide basic knowledge of Thai commercial banks’ structure and business practice as well as the banks’ role in the national economy and the development of the country
  • To equip the participants with fundamental knowledge about the various types and channels of investment
  • To provide some essential business knowledge and practical skills through workshops and learning from the experience of prominent guest speakers and practitioners
  • To develop leadership, social and teamwork skills by effectively working with others in teams
  • To emphasize the importance of Thai customs and culture as well as encouraging the participants to carry on precious Thai traditions
  • To inspire the participants with a sense of social responsibility and encourage them to contribute to society

Program Details
The program consists of five modules:

  • Finance, Banking and Investment
  • Business Management
  • Economics and Development
  • Community and Social Development
  • Leadership and Self Development

Students will have the opportunity to attend lectures given by prominent guest speakers and practitioners in various fields, participate in group activities and work on business projects.

Learning & Development Activities
  • Lectures and Site Visits
    Lectures and discussions on various topics with prominent guest speakers from the government, state enterprises and the private sector, including Bangkok Bank
  • Group Discussion
    Participants share their experiences in groups in order to enhance their leadership skills and work with others as a team
  • The Business Project
    Participants work on a business project as part of a team and present their business plan to senior Bangkok Bank executives


Three Classes Each Year
Bangkok Bank provides two SIP classes each year:

Class 1:

  • For Thai students studying in Thailand (Regular Program)
    (Students will attend the program as full time interns between June - July)


Class 2:

  • For Thai students studying abroad
  • For Thai students studying in English programs in Thailand
    (Students will attend the program as full time interns between July - August)
