I - Respect of our Customer's Right to Privacy
Bangkok Bank realizes that the trust of our customers is our most valuable asset. We recognize that customers expect a high level of privacy and security for their personal and financial affairs. We maintain rigorous standards and procedures in order to safeguard sensitive information entrusted to us and prevent misuse of this information.
II - Information that is Collected and Retained
The information that we will collect about you will depend on how you use the facilities offered by the Bangkok Bank Websites.
We collect, retain, and use information about you only where we believe that it will help better run our business or provide products, services, and other opportunities to you.
We use such information to protect and administer your records and account; to comply with certain laws and regulations; to help us design or improve our products and services; and to help us understand your financial needs so that we can provide you with superior service.
We collect and retain information about you only for specific business purposes - and we will provide full disclosure to tell you why we are collecting and retaining it upon your request.
Please see VIII Details of What, When, and Where Information is Collected
III - Security and Privacy of Information
We employ high security standards, technologies and procedures to help prevent unauthorized access to confidential information. We have made a significant investment in time, money and people to ensure our website meets the highest standards. Your information remains secure because our computer systems are protected in the following ways:
A firewall is software that acts like a security guard ejecting any unwanted intruders. We use several firewall levels to protect our system and your data.
- Intrusion Detection Software
Intrusion detection software is installed to enable us to be immediately alerted if any suspicious activities occur.
- Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
SSL encrypts data into numerical coding - that is, SSL converts any data that comes from you to the Bank and from the Bank to you. This encryption process ensures data remains secure.
- Up to 256-Bit Encryption
For Bualuang iBanking and Electronic Bill presentment, payment services and other online banking services i.e. BIZ iBanking, Corporate iCash, Bualuang iFund, Bualuang iCustody, Bualuang iPay, Merchant iPay (hereinafter referred to as “Electronic Banking Services”), we use up to 256-Bit algorithm, the highest level of encryption currently available for use in the world’s banking industry. We utilize up to 256-Bit "strong encryption" for all access to our transactional services on the Internet, and require customers to register prior to using the service.
We constantly update and test our technology to improve the protection of information about you and to assure the reliability of our information.
- Log on Alert
When you log on to iBanking, we send an automatic email to your personal email account confirming your log-on action has taken place.
If your email address has changed since you first registered for Bualuang iBanking, you can update this information at any branch.
- Automatic Sign-off
If you leave your computer screen idle, you will be signed off from our service automatically. This feature prevents anyone from using your account while you are away from the computer.
IV - Ensuring Accuracy of Information
The Bank strives to ensure your account information is accurate and up to date. If you find that your account information is incomplete, inaccurate or not current, please contact us via our Bualuang Phone Service, Bualuang iBanking service or at one of our branches. For Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment, please contact CCMS Customer Service on (66) 0-2626-4199 or via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. We will investigate and respond in a timely manner.
V - Disclosure of Information to External Parties
We do not reveal specific information about your accounts or other personally identifiable data to external parties, unless:
A. Your consent has been obtained;
B. The information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by you;
C. The information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar authorized information reporting agency;
D. The disclosure otherwise is lawfully permitted or required by any relevant authority.
We do not provide account or personal information to external parties for the purpose of independent telemarketing or direct mail marketing of any non-financial products or services of those companies.
VI - Acceptance of and Changes to our Privacy and Security Policy
This is the current Bangkok Bank Privacy and Security Policy. It replaces any other Privacy and Security Policy for the Bangkok Bank Websites published to date.
Bangkok Bank may at any time vary the Privacy and Security Policy by publishing the varied Privacy and Security Policy on the Bangkok Bank Websites.
VII - Privacy Guidelines
The following explains the security technologies we employ and your role as customer to ensure that your banking information remains secure.
ID and Password
After you have registered for our Electronic Banking Services, you will be given a unique identifier and are required to select a password to use this service. The Bank knows your ID, but only you know your password. We have made significant investments to ensure your password remains secret to both internal and external parties.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your banking information by not sharing your ID or password with anyone, by changing your password periodically, and by remembering to sign off from the system as soon as you are finished.
As part of the registration process we will ask you to supply your mobile phone number. We will use this number to send you SMS messages containing a One Time Password (OTP) as an additional protection for you when you make use of certain services – for example if you wish to add a third party to your account. If you wish to change your phone number you will need to go into the branch with identification documents.
To provide better service and a more secure Website, we use "cookies" as part of our interaction between your browser and the Bangkok Bank computer systems. These cookies are encrypted and used to maintain the secure connection between the browser and the server; they do not contain customer specific information, are one-time only and cannot be reused.
Cookies are commonly used on Websites and do not harm your computer system. By configuring your preferences or options in your browser, you determine if and how a cookie will be accepted. Your browser must be configured to accept cookies in order to access our Electronic Banking Services.
Privacy of Online Information
Whenever you access our Electronic Banking Services, we use 128-Bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL technology) for transferring data. This technology encrypts - or scrambles - information so it's practically impossible for anyone other than Bangkok Bank to read it. Click here for more information.
We preserve the content of all e-mail sent to us by customers, including the e-mail address and a copy of our responses, so that we can efficiently process any subsequent questions you may have. We may occasionally contact you at your e-mail address if we think a particular Bangkok Bank service might apply to your situation.
We will never ask for personal information such as your User ID, PIN or password via email, and also never send you an email asking you to log on to a website or with an active link in the email.
It is important to note that regular non-encrypted Internet e-mail is not secure. We cannot be sure that you actually sent it, or that the message contents have not been seen by other parties. In the instances where Bangkok Bank Internet e-mail addresses are provided, these should be used for information inquiries of a non-sensitive and non-confidential nature.
See our Contact Us Link and our Banking Center Locator Web Pages for additional information about contacting us.
