Bangkok Bank demonstrates its commitment to reviving Thailand’s seas on World Oceans Day 2026 by restoring marine ecosystems

Bangkok Bank, led by Vice President and Public Relations Department Manager Aphiwat Punnopakorn, Vice President Public Relations Department Suwit Indrachalerm together with executives and staff, joined forces at the “World Oceans Day 2026” event under the theme “REIMAGINE: Seeing the World and Oceans from a New Perspective” (The Ocean, Redesign the Future – Rethinking the Seas for a Sustainable World). The initiative aims to raise public awareness of the importance of conserving marine ecosystems. The event was chaired and presided over by Mr. Damrongsak Yodthongdee, Vice Governor of Samut Sakhon Province and hosted by Mr. Montree Hamontree, Director of Marine and Coastal Resources Office 8. The event was held at the Office of Marine and Coastal Resources Office 8, Khok Kham Subdistrict, Mueang Samut Sakhon District, Samut Sakhon Province.
On this occasion, the Bank continued its ‘Bualuang Save the Earth: Rak Tha Chin’ initiative by organizing an educational exhibition on conservation, resource restoration, and marine waste management. The team also carried out hands-on activities, including mangrove planting, releasing crabs into the wild, and collecting and sorting waste. In addition, the Bank provided 600 bottles of drinking water and 400 eco-friendly shirts made from recycled plastic bottle fibers. Recycling PET bottles into fibers not only helps reduce plastic waste and landfill space, but the production also minimizes the use of new raw materials, saves energy, water and crude oil while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The eco-friendly shirts are comfortable to wear, quick-drying, and breathable, helping to reduce energy consumption and support environmental sustainability. The initiative represents a shift in perspective and helps inspire collaboration to restore and sustainably develop the future of Thailand’s marine ecosystems.
