Card Details
The card is valid for one year. You can select the card value to suit your purpose – 500 baht, 1,000 baht, 2,000 baht, 3,000 baht, 5,000 baht or 10,000 baht. If your company wants to purchase the cards as gift cards or to manage fuel expenses you can purchase multiple cards with a total worth of over 50,000 baht and specify your preferred value for each card between 300 baht and 20,000 baht.

Purchase your Shell prepaid card at any Bangkok Bank branch nationwide. Simply fill in a purchase form and submit it along with a copy of your Citizen ID card (for individuals) or a copy of the Citizen ID card of the representative of a juristic person and a copy of the registration certificate of the juristic person (for juristic persons). You can pay by cash, funds transfer or cheque.

Fees
  • New card: 30 baht (VAT inclusive) per card for a card with a value of less than 1,000 baht. The fee will be collected on top of the card value upon purchase. For example, if you purchase a 500-baht card, you will pay a total of 530 baht.
  • Replacement card: 30 baht (VAT inclusive) per card. The fee will be deducted from the available balance on the card and the remaining balance will be transferred to the replacement card.
  • Refund Remaining Value: 30 baht (VAT inclusive) per card. The fee will be deducted from the available balance on the card and the remaining balance will be transferred to the new card or to the card purchaser’s Bangkok Bank account.
  • Account Maintenance: 50 baht (VAT inclusive) per month. The fee will be deducted from the available balance on the card and the remaining balance will be transferred to the new card or to the card purchaser’s Bangkok Bank account.

Purchasing the cards

1. Is there a minimum number of cards that must be ordered each time? 

No. 

2. How do I purchase a card? 


You can purchase the card at any Bangkok Bank branch nationwide. You will need to fill in the following purchase form: 

For individuals

  • Buyer’s name
  • Phone number (please be sure to fill in the correct mobile phone number so that you can receive the PIN to activate your card)
  • Card value
  • Number of cards
  • How to receive your card

After completing all details, you need to submit a purchase form along with a copy of your Citizen ID card. 


For juristic persons 

  • Company name
  • Buyer’s name
  • Phone number (please be sure to fill in the correct mobile phone number so that you can receive the PIN to activate your card)

A purchase form must be submitted along with (1) a copy of the Citizen ID card of the representative of a juristic person and (2) a copy of the registration certificate of the juristic person.


3. How long will it be after the purchase date that I receive the card? 

You will receive the card within seven business days if you live in Bangkok or metropolitan area and within 10 business days for provincial areas. We will send the card to your notified address via post or any Bangkok Bank branch. Alternatively, you can receive your card in person at the Credit Card Division, 1st Fl, Trinity Building. 

 
Using your card

1. Can I use the card instantly when I get it? 

No. You must first activate your card by calling the Card Member Service Section on (66) 0 2638 4444. You can activate all cards at once, or each card individually. If you activate your card before 5:00p.m., you can use your card the next day. If you activate your card after 5:00p.m., you can use your card within two days. 

2. What are the conditions of using the card at Shell petrol stations? 


The card transaction must be processed through an EDC machine at participating Shell petrol stations nationwide.


  • You will need to show your card before using the service.
  • There is no minimum purchase limit on a card. 
  • If your available balance on the card is not enough, you must first fill up as much of the tank as possible using the available balance on the card and then fill up the rest with cash or a credit card.
  • You will need to check your spending details before signing the sales slip and retain it for further reference. 


3. How can I check the balance on my card? 


You can check the balance from your sales slip or you can contact the Card Member Service Section. 

4. What should I do if my card has been lost, stolen or damaged?


Your card cannot be reissued, except if your card has been lost or the card’s magnetic strip has been damaged. You can call the Card Member Service Section on (66) 0 2638 4444 to request a replacement card and submit the following documents:


  • Request to amend information concerning Bangkok Bank Shell Prepaid Card
  • A copy of your Citizen ID card
  • The damaged existing card (in the case of a damaged card)
  • A copy of the police report (in the case of a lost or stolen card)
  • A copy of a purchase form
  • A copy of a card delivery form and the number of the damaged, lost or stolen card

 

Other conditions: 


  • The existing card’s available balance must be more than 30 baht.
  • A 30 baht fee (including VAT) will be charged for every card value. We will deduct a fee from the card’s available balance before transferring its remaining value to the replacement card. 
  • When documents are complete, we will process a new card for you and provide you with a PIN. 


5. If I haven’t yet received the card, or have problems with the card, who should I contact?

Card expiry
1. How long is the card valid for?

A Bangkok Bank Shell Prepaid card is valid for 12 months from the purchase date. The expiry date is displayed on the card. 

2. Can I top up the card? 

The card cannot be topped up when the balance drops to zero. You will need to buy a new one. 

3. Does the bank set a minimum payment limit on a card? 

No. 

4. Can I continue to use the card or refund the remaining value left on the card if the card expires?

No. You cannot continue using the card if the card is not valid. The purchaser of the card can request a refund of the remaining balance and we will transfer the remaining balance to a new card or the card purchaser’s Bangkok Bank account or you can redeem for cash. If this is the case you must pay a fee as per the bank’s conditions. If the card expires and you don’t request the bank to take any action, we will deduct account maintenance fees from the available balance on the card.
