Waiting Period for Extra Benefit of 120 MB Plan

  • Vaccination and dental care expenses occurring within 180 days following the date on which this contract is issued or reinstated, whichever is later.
  • Health check-up expenses occurring within one year following the date on which this contract is issued or reinstated, whichever is later.

Additional Conditions for Health Insurance Rider Offering Worldwide Coverage except the United States and the Minor Outlying Islands

The health insurance rider will not provide coverage for medical treatments in the United States and the minor outlying islands.

In this respect, the Company will only provide coverage for medical treatments taking place in the United States and the minor outlying islands specifically according to the following conditions stipulated in the benefits:

  1. Physical injuries from accidents
  2. Emergency illnesses in the United States and the minor outlying islands in accordance with definitions specified in this rider

Regarding the emergency cases mentioned above, the first hospitalized date in the United States and the minor outlying islands must be within the first 90 days of entering the United States and the minor outlying islands for each trip. The Company will provide coverage for the necessary and appropriate expenses incurred from medical treatments in accordance with medical necessity and standards in the United States and the minor outlying islands.

Emergency cases in the United States and the minor outlying islands refer to:

  1. Life-threatening emergency injury or illness that needs timely medical treatment to address the respiratory system, blood circulatory system or nervous system, otherwise it will result in the patient being at high risk of death or cause the emergency injury or illness to become more severe or lead to acute complications such as cardiac arrest, apnea, hypovolemia shock, continuous seizure or febrile convulsion, apathy, loss of consciousness, coronary artery disease requiring thrombolytic therapy, acute cerebrovascular disease requiring thrombolytic therapy, massive ongoing hemorrhage, etc.; or
  2. Life-threatening acute injury or illness or severe pain that needs immediate medical attention, otherwise it will cause the injury or illness of the emergency patient to become more severe or lead to complications that may subsequently result in death or acquired amputation, such as, body temperature lower than 35 degrees Celsius or higher than 40 degrees Celsius, heart rate less than 40 beats per minute or more than 150 beats per minute, systolic blood pressure less than 90 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) or diastolic blood pressure higher than 130 mm Hg, difficult or labored respiration particularly when accompanied by other clinical descriptions such as loss of consciousness, convulsion, paralysis, immediate blindness and deafness, massive ongoing hemorrhage, paleness or cyanosis, severe or excruciating pain, cold hands and feet, and cold sweats, etc., including multiple large wounds such as major multiple fractures, burns, back injury with or without spinal cord damage, etc.
Some Exclusions of AIA Infinite Care Rider
  1. This rider consists of a waiting period according to the conditions stipulated therein.
  2. The Insured suffers from a chronic disease, illness, or any injury that is not treated before the contract’s effective date or, before the effective date of the latest reinstatement, whichever is later, or a congenital disease, a developmental problem or a genetic disorder.
  3. The Insured is under surgical or other treatment for the purposes of cosmetic, skincare, acne, melasma, freckle, dandruff, hair loss or weight loss, or an optional surgery; however, the cosmetic surgery to address wounds suffered from an accident under the policy contract will be covered.
  4. Pregnancy, miscarriage, abortion, child delivery, obstetric complications, solutions to infertility problems (including investigations and treatments), sterilization and contraception.
  5. Other treatments besides conventional medicine including alternative medicine.
  6. Suicide, attempted suicide, self-harm or attempted self-harm either by the Insured or by other people with consent of the Insured whether under insanity or not, including injuries caused by accidents after consuming or injecting toxic drugs or substances into the body, or overdoses of prescription drugs.
