Investment Policy
- The Fund has a policy to invest in government bonds, corporate bonds, deposits or instruments equivalent to deposit, both onshore and offshore, with investment grade credit ratings on both the Fund and the issuers. and may invest in CIS units of funds that invest wholly in securities or assets related to debt instruments totaling not less than 80% of the NAV of the Fund. However, the Fund may consider investing in non-investment grade bonds and/or unrated bonds not more than 20% of the NAV of the Fund depending on the discretion of the Fund Managers. The Fund will invest offshore, average in an accounting period not more than 79% of the Fund’s NAV.
- For the remaining of less than 20% of the Fund’s NAV, the Fund may consider investing in or holding hybrid instruments, Basel III instruments as well as other securities or one or more methods of generating income as stipulated or approved by the Office of the SEC.
- The Fund may invest in derivatives for efficient portfolio management and for hedging purposes not less than 90% of the value of offshore investment. Hedging transactions may have costs and may cause the overall return of the Fund to decrease due to increased costs. In addition, the Fund may invest in instruments that have the characteristics of structured notes.
