How to apply

If you have already registered for Bualuang mBanking or Bualuang iBanking, you can apply for the Bualuang Western Union via Bualuang mBanking and Bualuang iBanking in either of the three following ways.

 

Apply online via Bualuang mBanking or Bualuang iBanking

  • Click ‘Transfer’ menu >> Select ‘Western Union’ service >> Click ‘Register Now’ and fill in the required information.
  • You can apply for the service every day from 6:00a.m.-9:00p.m. The Bank will process your application and send a confirmation to you via SMS within three working days.

 

Apply at any Bangkok Bank branch

  • Obtain an application form at any Bangkok Bank branch and fill in the required information together with the following documents:
    • Citizen ID card (for Thais), Alien ID card (for Aliens), or passport (for foreigners), which is valid for at least 60 days.
    • Bangkok Bank passbook linked with Bualuang mBanking or Bualuang iBanking.
  • The Bank will process your application and send a confirmation to you via SMS within 7 working days (provincial applications may take longer).

 
Notes

  • You will need to sign your name in front of a bank officer on the application form and the terms and conditions governing the Bualuang Western Union® Service via Bualuang mBanking or Bualuang iBanking, which will be provided to you at the branch.
  • The signature you provide must be the same as the one on your Bangkok Bank passbook linked with Bualuang mBanking or Bualuang iBanking.

 

To receive money

You can receive money via Bualuang mBanking and Bualuang iBanking.

  • Enter your MTCN code
  • Enter the amount of money being received (in baht)
  • Select your bank account to receive money
  • Select purpose 
  • Confirm your transaction to receive money
  •  After the completion, you can check your balance by going to ‘Deposit Account’ menu

 

Note: For your own benefit, if you don’t receive the funds transferred after you have completed the steps of receiving money via Bualuang mBanking or Bualuang iBanking, please contact us immediately. If you don’t contact us, you may not receive the amount of money as specified by the sender due to currency fluctuation.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • You can receive money via Bualuang mBanking and Bualuang iBanking every day from 6:00a.m.- 9:00p.m.
  • You can amend/cancel the ‘Bualuang Western Union’ service at any Bangkok Bank branch.
  • Provide your Citizen ID card (for Thais), Alien ID card (for Aliens), or passport (for foreigners), which is valid for at least 60 days.

To Send Money

 

  • Fill in a “To Send Money” form at any Bangkok Bank outlet displaying a Western Union sign.
  • Present the completed form, the money you wish to transfer and any applicable transfer fees, as well as your photo ID and supporting documents.
  • Pay and keep your receipt and the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for your reference.
  • Provide the receiver with the essential transfer details, including the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN), your name, the country the money is being sent from, and the total amount of funds to be transferred.

 

To Receive Money

  • Fill in a “To Receive Money” form at any Bangkok Bank outlet displaying a Western Union sign. Provide the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN), the full name of the sender, the country the money was sent from, and the expected amount to be received.
    Present the completed form along with an official ID card or passport.
  • Collect your money and a receipt.

  • How to submit your documents:
    • Complete the application form clearly in English and sign your name both on the application form and terms and conditions.
    • Provide your Citizen ID card (for Thais), Alien ID card (for Aliens), or passport (for foreigners), which is valid for at least 60 days.
    • Give details of your Bangkok Bank savings account (if you don’t have a Bangkok Bank savings account, you can open an account at any Bangkok Bank branch).
  • The bank will process your registration and send a confirmation to you via SMS within seven working days (provincial applications may take longer).

To Receive Money

 

  • Call (66) 0-2680-9588 any day of the week from 8:30a.m. to 8:00p.m.
  • Provide your full name, account number, personal information and confirmation that you are the intended recipient by providing details of the 10-digit Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN), the full name of the sender, the country the money was sent from, and the expected amount to be received
  • The money will be credited to your account within 15 minutes and you will get a free SMS alert confirming this.

 

Service Conditions

  • The deposit account to be used for this service can be a Bangkok Bank savings account or current account in Thai baht, but it cannot be the Thai baht account of a non-resident individual. You can register a maximum of five accounts to receive the service.
  • You can apply/amend/add new account/cancel the “Bualuang Western Union RING” service at any Bangkok Bank branch - if it is attached to a savings account - ,or at your home branch for a current account.

FAQs
  • Do I need a bank account to send money via Western Union?
    No, you do not need a bank account to send money via Bangkok Bank’s Western Union Money Transfer service. Simply bring your photo ID, documents related to the purpose of the funds transfer and complete the “To Send Money” form at a Bangkok Bank Western Union counter.

  • What will I need to send money?
    In compliance with Bank of Thailand regulations, you will need to show your valid identification card or passport and documents related to the purpose of funds transfer (if the transfer is more than USD10,000).

  • How much money can I send?
    You can send up to USD10,000 or the equivalent amount in another currency per transaction, per day.

  • What do I need to do to collect my money?
    Visit a Bangkok Bank counter with the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN), the full name of the sender, the country the money was sent from, the amount you are expecting and your valid photo ID.

  • Are there any fees to send or receive money?
    There is no fee to receive the money. Fees to send money vary depending upon the transfer amount and destination country.

  • I need to collect my money. Where is my nearest Bangkok Bank Western Union counter?
    You can collect your money at any Bangkok Bank branch or currency exchange booth with Western Union signage anywhere in the country.

  • Can I receive my money in USD?
    Sorry, you can only receive cash in baht, as per Western Union’s restrictions.

  • Can Bangkok Bank automatically transfer this money into a Bangkok Bank account?
    Sorry, due to Western Union restrictions, this can’t be done. However, you can collect the cash and make a deposit at any Bangkok Bank branch counter or at a Cash Deposit Machine.

  • What is the most I can receive in a day?
    There is no maximum amount that can be received each day via Western Union.

  • How long does the money transfer take?
    Approximately 15 minutes.
