Bangkok Bank action relating to an employee who has contracted Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19)
Bangkok Bank Executive Vice President Mr. Thaweelap Rittapirom confirmed that a Bangkok Bank employee working on the 26th floor of Saengthong Thani Building, Sathon Road, Bangkok, tested positive for Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) on March 12, 2020.

The employee is believed to have contracted the virus from a family member who tested positive for COVID-19 on March 11, 2020, after which the employee immediately informed their manager of the situation. The Bank subsequently sent the employee to be tested for COVID-19 and directed them to work from home in self-quarantine for 14 days in line with measures to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. The Bank sealed off the offices on the 26th floor of Saengthong Thani Building for cleaning and disinfection the same day. The cleaning and disinfection process followed standards used for hospitals to ensure safety and reduce the risk of disease transmission as prescribed by the Disease Control Department, the Public Health Ministry.

The Bank has also identified the employee’s co-workers and sent them to be tested for COVID-19 and is currently waiting for the results. To reduce risk of transmission, these co-workers have been assigned to work from home for 14 days in line with the Bank’s quarantine measures.
