Bangkok Bank launches dStatement service to enable customers to receive and send digital statements, helping to save time, reduce expenses and support Thai people to gain easier access to loans

Bangkok Bank has launched the dStatement service to increase convenience for customers in receiving and sending digital statements to replace paper statements which helps save time while reducing expenses. The Bank will start providing this service on January 24, 2022, with confidence that it will help Thai people to have easier access to loans. Meanwhile, the Bank continues its policy of proactively developing its services through digital channels to provide greater experience for customers.

Bangkok Bank Director and Executive Vice President Mr. Thaweelap Rittapirom said that the Bank has launched a digital statement service or dStatement, which is a new alternative to sending and receiving statements. The service will facilitate those who want to apply for a bank loan to request a statement from different banks to be used when applying for a loan. It will be a form of direct digital transmission of information between banks thus helping customers simplify the process as well as save time and money. The service will be available from January 24, 2022, onwards.

“The dStatement service is a new alternative that provides greater convenience to customers as they don’t have to go to the bank branch to request a paper statement to apply for a loan with another bank. The service allows customers to directly submit digital statements between banks, therefore it is faster while reducing hassle and saving time for customers. In addition, customers can also be assured of safety and don't have to worry about loss of documents. Most importantly, the fee for dStatement is cheaper than when requesting traditional paper statements.”

Bangkok Bank’s dStatement service is available in two options:

  1. Send other banks’ statements to Bangkok Bank to apply for Bangkok Bank’s loan. Customers can contact Bangkok Bank to apply for a loan and request the dStatement service. A Bangkok Bank branch officer will send a request for dStatement to the customer’s mobile phone, after which the customer can simply confirm a transaction and pay a fee to the bank that sent the information (The fees of the bank that sent the information will apply). The system will send the statement to Bangkok Bank immediately.
  2. Send Bangkok Bank’s statement to a different bank for a customer who is applying for a loan with another bank and requests the statement. Those wishing Bangkok Bank to send a statement of savings account or current account to other banks can notify the bank that they want to use dStatement service. The system will send a request to “Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking” and require them to confirm to send information. Up to five account statements can be sent with a fee of 75 baht per account. The system will send the statement to the other bank on behalf of the customer who requests the statement immediately.

“This service is another fantastic collaboration between financial institutions and the Bank of Thailand who plays a middleman role to coordinate and support this collaboration. This will significantly help Thai people access financial services, especially loans more conveniently. It is also in line with Bangkok Bank’s policy that focuses on developing services via digital channels and playing a part in creating a strong Digital Ecosystem for Thailand’s financial services. This reflects Bangkok Bank’s commitment to be a ‘trusted partner’ that stays close to customers and delivers good experiences across all service channels. At the same time, it is in line with the Bank’s growth strategies and vision of becoming a “regional bank”,” said Mr. Thaweelap.

The dStatement service will be initially provided by six financial institutions in Thailand in the first phase, covering 98% of all people’s accounts. Each bank will gradually start providing the dStatement service across the two options by the first half of 2022.

Customers can find more information about dStatement service from all the Bank’s channels including website, Bangkok Bank LINE Official or call 1333 or 0 2645 5555.
