Bangkok Bank donated more than 72 million baht to the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital Mahidol University to help underprivileged patients
On behalf of Bangkok Bank, Executive Vice President Pochanee Kongkalai handed over a donation of 72,604,510.55 million baht (collected between September 1, 2022 - August 31, 2023) to Mr. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, M.D., Professor and Dean Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University on Mahidol Day to help underprivileged patients. This is to follow the footsteps of Mahitala Dhibesra Adulyadej Vikrom, the Prince Father, “the father of modern Thai medicine”. The donation came from a co-branded debit and credit card project between Siriraj Hospital and Bangkok Bank that places high importance on helping society. Cardholders can become 'givers' in two ways: 1. Spending via the Be1st Smart TPN Siriraj Card or the Bangkok Bank Visa Platinum Siriraj Credit Card will result in Bangkok Bank donating an additional 0.2% of the amount spent by the cardholder in each billing cycle to the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, and 2. Applying for a new Be1st Smart TPN Siriraj Card will result in Bangkok Bank donating 100 baht for every new card issued, and 50 baht per card from the annual fee to the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital for subsequent years.
Since 2005, Bangkok Bank has collectively donated more than 478 million baht under the co-branded project (the cumulative amount of donations since 2015 amounted to 478,264,121.16 baht).
