The meeting took place in front of Chao Pho Kim Thong Shrine (Rainbow Bridge) Kalong Subdistrict, Mueang Samut Sakhon District, Samut Sakhon Province.

On this occasion, Bangkok Bank executives participated in a discussion and exchanged views on coastal community waste management and the use of garbage traps (Boom), which is one of the processes that “Bualuang Save the Earth: Rak Tha Chin” project has been piloting for over 3 months. Two months after installing the garbage trap, 6,012 kilograms of garbage has been trapped and prevented from flowing from the Tha Chin River into the Gulf of Thailand. As a result, the project has helped reduce greenhouse emissions by an equivalent of 21.04 tons of carbon dioxide. At the same time, the collected garbage was analyzed and studied to help solve the cause of problem from the original source of garbage.

At the event the Bank also set up an exhibition booth to provide knowledge about the activities to create and raise awareness of how waste separation can reduce the amount of marine waste and help achieve the goal of concrete and sustainable marine waste management.
