Sustainable growth throughout 80 years – Bangkok Bank led by President Mr. Chartsiri Sophonpanich, Executive Director Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance Department, Mr. Montri Upathambhakul, and Vice President, Public Relations Department, Mr. Suwit Indrachalerm, joined TMA 60 Years of Excellence event to present the booth under the concept of “Growing Together For 80 Years”. On this occasion, Bangkok Bank President Mr. Chatsiri Sophonpanich joined the discussion on the topic of “What does it take to be competitive?”. He mentioned the challenging factors in raising Thailand's competitiveness, including the quality of human resources, environmental issues, regulatory rules, and the use of technology together with a proper management. He said that the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a proper management system will help create considerable new opportunities as it will help perform certain types of tasks more efficiently, such as those that require a large amount of repetition. Humans will be able to use the results of AI processing for decision-making. In addition, the development of physical, digital and regulatory infrastructure is another important aspect that needs to be taken into account.
At the event, the Bank also featured a booth to showcase its financial services to celebrate 80 years of being a “trusted partner” growing alongside customers and supporting businesses for sustainable growth. As a “leading regional financial institution”, the Bank has 14 branches in key economies worldwide including 3overseas subsidiaries. The Bank offers services to connect the ASEAN region such as AEC Connect, cross-border payments via QR Code, and international trade services (iTrade), which is an online service for export and import businesses to manage international trade transactions digitally. Additionally, the Bank also provides financial services focused on the environment and sustainability such as green loans, mutual funds for sustainability, and sustainability bonds.
On this occasion, the Bank's executives welcomed and presented the commemorative book “80 Years of Bangkok Bank” to Mr. Pasu Loharjun, Chairman of the Board View Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization): TCEB, and Mr. Nithi Patrachok. Vice President of Thailand Management Association (TMA), during their visit to the Bank’s booth. The “TMA 60 Years of Excellence” event was held during September 16-19, 2024 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
