Bangkok Bank partners with MIT to launch the AI & Robotics Hackathon and Competitions 2025, nurturing a new generation of researchers and positioning Thailand as a hub for ASEAN technology.
Innovating for the future – Bangkok Bank, led by President Chartsiri Sophonpanich, Director and Senior Executive Vice President Kobsak Pootrakool, joined with MIT Media Lab, led by Professor Joseph Paradiso, Director of the Responsive Environments Group, and executives of Cloud 11 to launch "AI & Robotics Hackathon and Competitions 2025" under the concept of “Building a Better Future for All”. This aims to promote the development and application of artificial intelligence technology (AI) and robots to solve important problems of society, including health, education, and sustainable urban development, using Thailand as an important base to connect the network of researchers, developers and technology personnel from Thailand and elsewhere in ASEAN. The activity consisted of three types of competitions and platforms related to innovation: AI & Robotics Hackathon for graduate students and researchers to develop in-depth solutions based on real problems, Robot Battle Arena for secondary, vocational, and university students to cultivate engineering and systems thinking skills from school age, and Visionaries Pitching, a platform to present ideas on using technology to drive social issues and reflect the creative power of the new generation.
The AI & Robotics Hackathon and Competitions 2025 was held from December 17-19, 2025 at Cloud 11 Building, Bangkok, with Bangkok Bank and Cloud 11 as the main sponsors. The activity reflects the bank’s commitment as a “leading regional bank” supporting skills development of the new generation of personnel and the innovation ecosystem, helping put research and technology to practical use, and creating value and benefits for society at large in a sustainable manner.
