Bangkok Bank organizes the 2nd Bualuang Green Trip with Bualuang people to collect trash, plant trees, release crabs, and provide survival kits, to restore the Thai coastline in Samut Sakhon Province.

Inspiring love for Thailand’s seas – Bangkok Bank as a “trusted partner and reliable close friend” led by Bangkok Bank Vice President, Office of the President, Dr. Jirawat Panpiemras, Vice Presidents of the Public Relations Division Aphiwat Punnopakorn and Suwit Indrachalerm and Assistant Vice President Regional Manager Region 3 - Provincial Commercial Banking Mr. Sarote Rotejanasarote, along with executives, “Bualuang Green Team” members and intern students from the 78th class of the Student Internship Program (SIP), participated in the “2nd Bualuang Green Trip to collect trash, plant mangrove trees, release crabs, and provide survival kits”. The event took place at the Bamboo Fences Prevention and Coastal Ecosystem Restoration project in Khok Kham subdistrict, Muang district, Samut Sakhon Province. It was held in collaboration with the Khok Kham Subdistrict Administrative Organization and the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources Region 8, to foster environmental awareness and encourage participation in conservation efforts, as well as promote social responsibility. The activities included releasing crabs to help restore the ecosystem and natural crab populations, planting 1,000 mangrove trees to create a natural barrier against coastal erosion and provide nurseries for marine life such as shrimp, crabs, and fish, and collecting 1,250 kilograms of waste along the mangrove forest shoreline to protect the environment and reduce harm to aquatic animals and plants. In addition, the Bank donated crab release equipment and waste separation bins to the Khok Kham Subdistrict Administrative Organization to use in ongoing local activities and distributed survival bags containing essential daily items to bedridden patients living in the area.

This activity site is part of a broader initiative under the “Bualuang Save the Earth: Rak Tha Chin” project which Bangkok Bank is helping to implement in partnership with local government agencies and community networks in Samut Sakhon province. This five-year initiative, running from 2023 to 2027, aims to tackle the issue of marine waste by installing trash traps at the mouth of the Tha Chin River, to prevent debris from flowing into the Gulf of Thailand. The project also focuses on educating local residents about waste separation to discourage littering in the river and establishing banks for waste to convert trash into money, tackling the root causes in a sustainable and effective manner.
