Bangkok Bank has launched the first class of the AEC Business Leader Program which aims to prepare Thai entrepreneurs and business owners to be competitive in the AEC. The grand opening was on June 13, 2016 at Anantara Siam Bangkok. Bangkok Bank President Mr. Chartsiri Sophonpanich gave a keynote speech about the opportunities in ASEAN and the importance of trade and investment as well as the purpose of initiating the program, namely to help Thai businesses rank among the best in ASEAN.
The event was honored with the presence of Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, Former ASEAN Secretary-General and Chairman of Future Innovative Thailand Institute, who gave a keynote address on ‘ASEAN 2025’. A panel discussion on the topic of ‘Business Opportunities in ASEAN’ was joined by Mr. Sanan Augubolkul, Chairman of Srithai Superware, and Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, President of Bangkok Airways.

Participants in the first class of the AEC Business Leader Program joined a workshop at Atta Lakeside Resort Suite, Khao Yai on June 18-19, 2016. The purpose of the workshop was to give them the opportunity to get to know each other and gain an overview of the program, as well as the business mission for each group. Bangkok Bank Senior Executive Vice President Mr. Chaiyarit Anuchitworawong welcomed the participants to the workshop.
