"Bualuang Volunteers" will help give away commemorative T-shirts, facilitate and guide blood donation procedures to people who donate blood at the National Blood Centre of the Thai Red Cross Society on Henry Dunant Road, Bangkok.

Bangkok Bank, led by Director Mr. Amorn Chandarasomboon, Mr. Arun Chirachavala, Mr. Siri Jirapongphan, Executive Vice President Mr. Rachot Sektrakul, Mrs. Oranuch Nampoolsuksan, Mr. Pipat Assamongkol, Mrs. Naddaram Pachimsawat, and Mr. Prarinya Maneeprasert, together with executives and staff, organized a ceremony to celebrate the graduates of the 9th Grade Buddhist Theology exam. This is the 53rd year the Bank has given offerings to monks and novices who passed their examination at the 9th grade, the highest grade in the curriculum of the Pali Department of Dharma. Phra Phrom Moli (Dhammaratano), Councilor of the Sangha Supreme Council of Thailand, Maekong Bali Sanam Luang, Abbot of Wat Paknam, presided as the president of the clergy, gave fans, bags, three garments (robe, sarong, extra robe) and blessings to 121 monks and novices who passed the examination. The event was held at the auditorium on the 30th floor of Bangkok Bank Head office, Silom Road.

At the ceremony to celebrate those who passed the 9th Grade Buddhist Theology exam for 2026, there were 121 graduates comprising 92 monks and 29 novices. This year is regarded as a historic milestone in the study of Buddhism in Thailand, as it represents the highest number of monks and novices ever recorded who successfully pass the 9th Grade Buddhist Theology exam. These 29 novices will receive royal patronage for their ordination as royal novices (Nak Luang) following ancient royal traditions at the Ubosot of Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram. Additionally, they will be granted royal monastic requisites.

In total, 2,128 monks and novices, comprising 1,767 monks and 361 novices, have joined the ceremony over the years. The initiative aims to raise public awareness of the importance of conserving marine ecosystems. On this occasion, the Bank continued its ‘Bualuang Save the Earth: Rak Tha Chin’ initiative by organizing an educational exhibition on conservation, resource restoration, and marine waste management. The team also carried out hands-on activities, including mangrove planting, releasing crabs into the wild, and collecting and sorting waste. In addition, the Bank provided 600 bottles of drinking water and 400 eco-friendly shirts made from recycled plastic bottle fibers. Recycling PET bottles into fibers not only helps reduce plastic waste and landfill space, but the production also minimizes the use of new raw materials, saves energy, water and crude oil while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The eco-friendly shirts are comfortable to wear, quick-drying, and breathable, helping to reduce energy consumption and support environmental sustainability. The initiative represents a shift in perspective and helps inspire collaboration to restore and sustainably develop the future of Thailand’s marine ecosystems.

Bangkok Bank participated in organizing lanterns (lightbulb type) with the Bank’s logo as a Buddhist offering for His Majesty the King’s royal merit-making ceremony on Visakha Bucha Day 2026 at Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram in the Grand Palace. Restoring Life to the Sea – Bangkok Bank Vice President Mr. Chanand Sophonpanich and Assistant Vice President, Mobile Banking Channel Management Ms. Jarucha Koosmith presented two marine turtle nursery sets comprising fiberglass tanks with water filtration systems to the Upper Gulf of Thailand Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center as a result of the “From Planktons to Planet Friendly Power” activity in the “Hunt Planktons for Rewards” campaign on Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking. The initiative invited customers to participate in a plankton collecting mission and convert their accumulated points into funding for marine turtle nursery equipment. Through strong collective participation, customers successfully reached the target of 2,000,000 planktons within just 29 days (from December 1-29, 2025). The points were converted to fund two complete marine turtle nursery tanks, with a total value of 148,400 baht. The donated equipment will help enhance the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured sea turtles affected by natural causes and human activities, such as entanglement in fishing gear, ingestion of marine debris, and entrapment by plastic waste. The improved nursery system is expected to increase recovery and survival rates, reducing mortality during rehabilitation before the turtles are safely released back into the sea by at least 30%. On this occasion, Mr. Narongrit Lertkasetvittaya, Fishery Biologist, Senior Professional Level Acting Director of Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center, Upper Gulf of Thailand, formally received the donation.

The Bank installed solar panels with a total capacity of 111.54 kWp (kilowatt) and commenced system testing in mid January 2026. During the testing period from January 19 to March 31, 2026, the system generated a total of 28,123 kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity. It is expected to reduce the branch’s annual electricity consumption by more than 100,000 kWh, or over 15% of total electricity usage, and help lower the Bank’s greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 50 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.
