The Royal Kathin
Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited presented the Royal Kathin to Wat Traimit Wittayaram Worawihan, Bangkok, supporting Buddhism for 58 consecutive years while celebrating the Bank’s 80th anniversary. On this occasion, a grand procession was organized under the concept of contemporary Thai-Chinese culture in the heart of Yaowarat Road and it was joined by customers, employees, and the general public on October 27, 2024.
The ceremony was presided over by Bangkok Bank Vice Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors Mr. Singh Tangtatswas On this occasion, government agencies led by Mr. Chaiwat Rungsipanodorn, Director of Sampanthawong District, Bank executives and staff, and local people. Bangkok Bank, its directors, executives and staff, customers and the general public donated 22,564,929.01 baht to the temple to restore living quarters of the novices and monks.
Bangkok Bank was the first financial institution to be honored with the commission of taking the Royal Kathin to temples under royal patronage in all regions in Thailand and to other temples in neighboring countries. The Bank began presenting the Royal Kathin to temples in 1967 and 2024 was the 58th year of upholding this tradition to preserve the Buddhist culture.
