- Can I deposit a foreign cheque into my Bangkok Bank account?
Yes - once the cheque is cleared, we will credit the funds to your account with us. Please note that an additional clearing fee may be imposed by foreign banks.
- How long does it take a foreign cheque to clear and have the funds credited to my Bangkok Bank account?
Depending on the terms and conditions applicable to the correspondent bank which processes the cheque clearing and the “drawee” bank in the country where the cheque was issued, foreign bank cheques can take several weeks to clear.
- Is there a limit to the number of foreign notes I can sell?
There is no limit to the amount you can sell, but you will need to declare the source of the foreign notes.
- Can I sell foreign notes at any of your branches?
You can sell foreign notes at any Bangkok Bank branch which provides exchange services or at Bangkok Bank Currency Exchange booths across the nation. - Can I buy travelers' cheques at any of your branches?
Bangkok Bank no longer sells travelers' cheques at Bangkok Bank branches across the nation, effective from April 16, 2020. - Can I sell travelers' cheques at any of your branches?
Bangkok Bank buys travelers' cheques of American Express in 7 currencies i.e. USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD and CHF at any Bangkok Bank branch which provides exchange services or at Bangkok Bank Currency Exchange booths across the nation.
