Bangkok Bank joins the 6th Sustainability Expo 2025—the largest sustainability event in Asia—to showcase its commitment to sustainable development under the concept “Growing Together: Growth, Partnership, Sustainability.” The Bank highlights four successful initiatives focused on environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and integrating CSR into core business processes (CSR in process), reaffirming its position as a leading regional bank that supports all sectors in growing sustainably together. On this occasion, Bangkok Bank Senior Executive Vice President Mr. Chaiyarit Anuchitworawong and Vice President, Public Relations Department Mr. Suwit Indrachalerm warmly welcomed the Chairperson of the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage Thanphuying Putrie Viravaidya, Member and Deputy Secretary-General , The Chaipattana Foundation , Mr. Jirapan Davivongs , President and CEO Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, Sustainability Expo 2025’s organizing chairman Mr. Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, and Executive Director of Corporate Affairs, Thailand, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, Mr. Patrick Horattanachai during their visit to the Bank’s booth.
Bangkok Bank Senior Executive Vice President Mr. Chaiyarit Anuchitworawong said that, “As a leading regional bank, Bangkok Bank is participating in the 6th Sustainability Expo 2025 under the theme “Growing Together: Growth, Partnership, Sustainability”—a core business philosophy that emphasizes growing alongside customers and society. The Bank is showcasing four exemplary projects that have delivered tangible, positive impacts, aiming to inspire individuals and especially businesses to adopt sustainable practices. These initiatives are designed to help reduce risks and mitigate the effects of climate change and evolving trade regulations, and foster long-term, resilient business growth. The four featured projects include:
- Bualuang Save the Earth: Rak Tha Chin – The Bank works with local communities, government agencies, the private sector and other local bodies to solve the issue of waste flowing into the Gulf of Thailand. The Bank installed three litter catchment tools namely buoy-strung little trap (Boom), bamboo cage litter trap, and staking litter trap in the piloted areas of Khlong Luang Sahakon and Khlong Pittayalongkorn, Khok Kham Subdistrict, Mueang District, Samut Sakhon Province in February 2024. As of 1 September 2025, 36,665 kilograms of waste has been trapped, preventing it from flowing into the Tha Chin River and the Gulf of Thailand. The amount of trapped waste helped reduce more than 128,923 kg of CO2e. Additionally, the Bank has set up community recycling banks and adopted the 3R approach – reduce, reuse and recycle – to comprehensively manage community waste. This approach not only raises awareness of the issue but also generates benefits and supplementary income for the community.
- “Bangkok Bank aims to deliver 7 million cc Blood Donation to Save Lives throughout Thailand” project to support the 70 million cc Blood Donation campaign by the National Blood Centre, Thai Red Cross Society in Honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, to celebrate Her Royal Highness’s 70th birthday. From beginning with two mobile donation units originally located at Bangkok Bank’s Silom head office building and Rama 3 building, the Bank has expanded the service to 10 other locations to provide better access to donation units for customers, the public, partners and bank staff wishing to donate blood on a quarterly basis. The 10 new mobile blood donation locations include 1.) Pratu Chang Phuak branch, Chiang Mai, 2.) Phitsanulok branch, Phitsanulok, 3.) Si Racha branch, Chon Buri, 4.) Rojana Road branch, Ayutthaya, 5) Hua Hin branch, Prachuap Khiri Khan, 6.) Chachoengsao branch, Chachoengsao, 7.) Nakhon Ratchasima branch, Nakhon Ratchasima, 8.) Udon Thani branch, Udon Thani, 9.) Hat Yai branch, Songkhla, and 10.) Chon Kasem Road branch, Surat Thani. Bangkok Bank has deployed the mobile blood donation units since 1996 and provided 36,364,450 cc of blood to the National Blood Center, Thai Red Cross Society, saving 270,725 lives (data as of August 31, 2025)
- “Pralong Pleng Praleng Mahori” – Bangkok Bank is the first and only financial institution that has supported and organized Thai classical music contests in the Mahori ensemble category for secondary school students. The contest features both ensemble performances and solo instrumental categories, including traditional Thai instruments such as the jakhe (zither), ranad thum (bass xylophone), saw u (low-pitched fiddle), and khlui phiang aw (bamboo flute). This initiative has been continuously held since 1986 to fulfill the royal aspirations of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in promoting accurate knowledge and understanding of Mahori-style Thai classical music among Thai youth, enabling them to preserve and pass on this cultural heritage. Bangkok Bank has also disseminated valuable recordings of live performances by Thai artists across various disciplines—including classical dance and music in the royal tradition, folk performing arts and music, and contemporary performing arts—through its Facebook Page and YouTube channel under the name “Bangkok Bank Musical Art Center”.
At SX 2025, Bangkok Bank Musical Art Center will also host Tachaya ‘Keng’ Prathumwan, a renowned artist who previously competed in the Pralong Pleng Praleng Mahori Contest. He will share his journey as a musician and perform traditional Thai music and vocals on the Talk Stage on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 12:00 to 13:30. Additionally, there will be a performance of traditional Thai music and dance by young artists from Phattayakul Thai Music and Drama School from 11:00 to 12:00 at the Gathering Space on the same day.
- Sustainable Finance – Bangkok Bank offers financial products that support environmentally friendly and sustainable businesses. These products aim to help customers achieve their sustainability goals and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They also align with national policies promoting the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy. For businesses and SMEs, offerings include the Bualuang Transformation Loan and Bualuang Green Financing for Transition to Environmental Sustainability Loan. For households, examples include the Bualuang Poonphol Green Loan.
At the booth, the Bank showcased the success stories of several customers who received financing to transition toward green businesses. These included Coral Life Co., Ltd., a leader in integrated energy-efficient building innovations; Hillkoff Co., Ltd., a coffee business generating positive economic, social, and environmental impact; Thasao Sawmill Co., Ltd., a fully integrated teak wood processor operating under the concept of “Green Product for Sustainability”; Burapa Prosper Co., Ltd., a manufacturer and distributor of ready-to-use rice flour committed to sustainability and environmental friendliness; Patum Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd., a producer and distributor of vegetable oil that emphasizes sustainability throughout the industry’s value chain; and Lampang Food Products Co., Ltd., a manufacturer and exporter of food and processed goods dedicated to advancing agricultural industries for the stable livelihoods of farmers, employees, partners, and investors.
Mr. Chaiyarit also stated that Bangkok Bank has played a key role in supporting and mobilizing funding for projects and activities that benefit society and the environment, both in the public and private sectors. This has been achieved through its role as a lead underwriter in the issuance of debt instruments that meet international standards, and as an advisor to businesses interested in issuing green bonds and sustainability bonds to raise funds through the capital market. In 2024, Thailand’s capital market saw a total of 106.332 billion baht in sustainable bond issuances, of which 62 billion baht or 58.31% were distributed by the Bank. This achievement earned Bangkok Bank the awards for Best Bank for Green Bonds in Asia-Pacific and Best Bank for Sustainable Finance in Thailand for 2024 from Global Finance magazine, reflecting the Bank’s success as a leader in green and sustainable bond financing in Thailand.

At the same time, the Bank collaborates with leading partners and affiliated companies to carry out projects and activities that continuously generate positive impacts on the environment and society, ensuring that all sectors can grow sustainably together,” said Mr. Chaiyarit.
In addition, the Bank invited three SME customers to participate in the event by showcasing and selling their products in the Food Fest zone on the LG floor. These include Kla-Krang, a producer of rice seeds using advanced physics-based breeding innovations and biotechnology to promote sustainability for communities, society, and the environment; Taoluang Food Products, a manufacturer and distributor of traditional Northern Thai food, featuring “Sai Ua Mueang Phrae”, a Northern style sausage which is a 5-star OTOP product. The company uses food preservation innovations that extend shelf life without preservatives and sources ingredients from local communities to support local producers; N & J Aqua Products, a breeder, producer, and processor of giant sea bass under the brand “Khaopong Farm”. The company collaborates with a network of sea bass farmers in Chachoengsao and meets GHPs and HACCP standards. It is currently expanding into the food service and international markets with the vision of elevating Thai cuisine using high-quality Thai ingredients to meet global standards.
