While this endorsement is in force for a full policy year, the Insured will receive the Vitality Bonus benefits for each integrated rider product under the AIA Vitality Program 90-days after the policy anniversary date. The Vitality Bonus consists of 2 cases as follows:

 

1. Vitality Bonus: in the event the Insured has never received any benefits under the terms of the critical illness rider and/or never received inpatient hospitalization benefits under the terms of medical expenses and daily compensation rider that are integrated rider products under the AIA Vitality Program, the cashback benefit rate of premium depends on the AIA Vitality status of the member. AIA Vitality consists of 4 statuses which are Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. All new members start at Bronze and have 1 year to earn points and move up to higher AIA Vitality status based on the healthy activity table. The status earned by the customer at the end of the policy year will be used to calculate the cashback benefit rate of the premium according to the status (renewal year). The cashback value is calculated as a percentage of the standard premium only (excluding premiums that must be paid in addition to the standard premium of the integrated product under the program.)

The Vitality Bonus rate for each policy year depends on the applicant’s AIA Vitality status.

The rate will not be lower than 0% and will not exceed 20% of the standard premium for integrated products that include critical illness riders and not exceed 15% of the standard premium for integrated products that include medical expenses and daily compensation riders, based on the premiums already paid by the Insured


2. Vitality Bonus: in the event the Insured received any benefits under the terms of the critical illness rider and/or received inpatient hospitalization benefits under the terms of medical expenses and daily compensation rider that are integrated rider products under the AIA Vitality Program, the cashback benefit rate of premium depends on the AIA Vitality status of the member. 2 The Vitality Bonus rate will not exceed 5% of the standard premium for the medical expenses and daily compensation riders in the policy year that have already been paid by the Insured.

Remark

  • AIA Company Limited reserves the right to adjust the health bonus rate during the policy year, subject to the approval of the Registrar. The Company will notify the Insured in writing at least thirty (30) days in advance.
  • AIA Vitality integrated rider products can be attached with any basic plan of AIA Company Limited, except basic plans that cannot be attached with any rider (e.g. Be Together Infinite 789, Be Together Health & Save, Be Together Smart Retirement and basic plans with a coverage period of less than 10 years).
  • The Vitality Bonus rate under the AIA Vitality Bonus rider will be used to calculate the cashback benefits from the standard premium in each policy year. This applies only to AIA Vitality integrated products, for which the sum assured must meet the specified minimum requirement.
  • The maximum Vitality Bonus rate of riders (PPR) to integrated products under the AIA Vitality Program will not exceed 20% for critical illness riders and not exceed 15% for medical expenses and daily compensation riders, as shown in the table above.
  • Care for Cancer is the marketing name of AIA Care for Cancer type 2024g.

1 A rider is an insurance policy with a renewable one-year rider term. Upon renewal, the Company reserves the right to adjust the premium rate during the policy anniversary, taking into account various factors such as the Insured’s age, occupational class, historical claim payments of the Company, etc. Such adjustment of the premium rate is subject to the approval of the Registrar. The Company will notify the Insured in writing at least thirty (30) days in advance.
2 A rider is an insurance policy with a renewable one-year term. Upon renewal, the Company reserves the right to amend the Insuring Agreement such as introducing a Copayment condition according to the rate and criteria specified in the rider contract. The Company also reserves the right to adjust the premium rate during the policy anniversary, taking into account various factors such as the Insured's age, occupational class, etc. Additional considerations may include medical inflation or historical claim payments of the Portfolio. Any premium adjustments are subject to the approval of the Registrar. The Company will notify the Insured in writing at least thirty (30) days in advance.
3 In the event of a first-time diagnosis and/or confirmation of a specified critical illness as specified in the rider by a medical professional while still alive, the benefits are as determined in the policy.
4 Choose the coverage area. There are 2 types: Worldwide and Worldwide excluding the United States and the Minor Outlying islands.
5 Medical expenses are paid as charged for some selected items and must not exceed the limit.
6 Critical illness coverage during the period that the rider is in force: If the Insured is diagnosed and confirmed with a critical illness for the first time according to the definition of critical illnesses covered under this rider and the Insured is hospitalized due to critical illness, the Company will increase the maximum benefits per policy year to double of the amount of the sum assured under this rider in the policy year, and will continue to pay such double benefits for another 3 consecutive years.
7 As defined in the rider contract
8 Special cashback benefit will be paid while the rider with the special cashback benefit endorsement has been in continuous effect for at least one year without any lapse or termination during the policy year, and the Insured has not received any benefits under the terms and conditions of this rider or any related endorsement. The Company will pay such benefits when all conditions specified by the Company are met.
9 As charged benefits are based in actual expenses and must not exceed the limit amount per confinement or the limit amount per policy year (It depends on the benefits according to the defined categories.)
10 6 Critical illness are: Acute Heart Attack, Major Stroke, Coronary Artery By-Pass Surgery, Invasive Cancer, Major Organ Transplantation or Bone Marrow Transplantation, Surgery to Aorta

  • A health declaration is one of the factors considered in the policy approval or payout approval process.
  • A health check-up is subject to the conditions set by AIA Company Limited.
  • The applicant has the duty to provide true information when applying for insurance. Any concealment of the truth or declaration of false statements may cause the insurance company to cancel the insurance contract or refuse to pay the claims under the insurance contract.
  • Rider premiums as per the table above (excluding Care For Cancer and HB Extra) can be deducted for personal income tax purposes according to the rules set by the Revenue Department.
